Christy Sica is a Connecticut and New York State licensed Acupuncturist, and Board Certified Chinese Herbalist. She is also certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Christy believes that each person, has within themselves the capacity to restore their physical and mental well being. Whether it is a young athlete needing to maintain agility, or enhance their performance, a patient facing recovery from surgery, or someone dealing with emotional issues, Christy will provide a unique treatment plan to address individual and specific needs. Christy is committed to a philosophy that nurtures individual inner strength to promote that which is within us all to heal ourselves.

Science Behind Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of therapeutic healing, originating in China nearly 5,000 years ago. It is a complete system that integrates body, mind and spirit. Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on analyzing the energies of the body, rather than the biomechanical assessments used in Western medicine. Following an in-depth and personalized evaluation that identifies the flow of the meridian system, a treatment plan is formulated that helps enable the body to achieve a balanced state of health.

Mission

Christy firmly believes that with proper care, the body innately seeks the path to balance and harmony. When disconnect between body and mind occurs, the likelihood of illness and/or other physical or emotional complications increases. The Western world struggles with the "work hard, play hard" mentality, which is an unsustainable lifestyle often with damaging consequences. Integrating the healing elements of acupuncture and herbal medicine into daily living, can help individuals, recharge, renew and to enhance their own mind/body connection.
